Werth Design — Wilmington, Delaware

Websites worth keeping. AI that earns its keep.

I'm Matthew Werth. I put AI to work for local businesses — answering after-hours calls, booking jobs, and clearing the busywork — on fast, modern websites that get you found. The kind of AI that wins customers, not the clumsy bot that turns them away.

Who it's for

Built for the businesses that keep a town running.

If you live on phone calls, walk-ins, and word of mouth — and you're losing some of it to a website that doesn't pull its weight, or a phone that goes to voicemail after hours — that's exactly who I build for. In Wilmington, the Brandywine Valley, and beyond.

  • Home & trade services

HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, auto. Stop sending after-hours calls to voicemail — book the job while you're still on the last one.

  • Salons, clinics & care

Hair, barber, dental, chiro, med spa. Online booking and automatic reminders that keep the chairs full and cut the no-shows.

  • Restaurants & food

Cafés, bakeries, caterers, wineries. A fast menu, online orders, and reservations — so you win the phone-in-hand crowd.

  • Professional services

Law, accounting, insurance, real estate. A credible site and an AI intake that books the clients worth your time.

  • Creators & shops

Artists, authors, makers. A storefront that sells while you create — like Laurie's prints and the wine guide above.

  • A life's work

Churches, societies, families, retiring pros. A searchable, lasting home for sermons, scholarship, and history.

Selected work

Every one of these earns its keep.

Bringing in customers, selling the work, filling the calendar, keeping a legacy whole — these are real, live sites doing real jobs for the people who own them. A handful of recent ones; tap any to see it for yourself.

What I do

Three things, done properly.

Most studios either design pretty things that don't work, or build working things that look terrible. I do both — and I sweat the part that comes after launch.

Service 01

Websites that work

Get found. Look the part. Win the click.

Fast, modern, mobile-first sites for local businesses and creators — built for Google and built to convert, with none of the bloated page-builder weight that slows everything down.

  • Custom design — not a template everyone else has
  • SEO foundations so the right people find you
  • Contact, booking, shop, or membership
  • Hosting set up for as little as $0/month

Service 02 · In demand

AI that earns its keep

AI that wins customers — not the bot that drives them off.

An assistant that answers every call and books the job at 2 a.m. Automations that handle intake, scheduling, and follow-up so nothing slips. The kind of AI that works like your best employee — never the clumsy chatbot that frustrates people and sends them to a competitor.

  • AI assistants & chatbots trained on your business
  • Workflow automation (intake, scheduling, follow-up)
  • AI audit + a plain-English roadmap
  • Content & transcription tooling

Proof, not hype: a 98.8%-accurate recognition model, ML energy forecasting, and an automated transcription pipeline — all shipped.

  • Rescue & migration off dying formats
  • Built to last — and easy to hand down

About

An artist who learned to engineer.

I'm Matthew Werth. By day I'm a software developer at JPMorgan Chase; the rest of the time, I'm Werth Design. I was trained as an artist — Temple University's Tyler School of Art — before I ever shipped production code, which is exactly why my sites look designed and actually work.

"I build clarity where systems are complex."

That's the whole job, really. I've built for pastors, scholars, artists, teachers, and small businesses — and engineered AI tools that actually help grow your business, not the clumsy kind of bot that turns customers away.

I work in person with people in Wilmington, Philadelphia, and South Jersey, and remotely with anyone who values craft, speed, and work that lasts.

Questions

The things people ask first.

Will this actually get me more customers?

That's the whole point. A fast site that ranks on Google, plus an assistant that answers and books every lead — even after hours — means fewer missed calls and more booked jobs. I'd rather build you something that pays for itself than something that just looks nice.

Do you really do AI, or is it a buzzword?

Real AI. I've shipped an image-recognition model at 98.8% accuracy and an automated transcription pipeline. For your business that usually means an assistant trained on your services that answers customers and books appointments, an automation that handles intake or follow-up, or an honest audit of where AI actually pays off — and where it doesn't.

I'm not techy — is that going to be a problem?

Not even a little. You never touch code, servers, or settings — I handle all of it, in plain English. If you can send a text, you can run what I build you, and I'm one message away whenever you need a hand.

How much does a website cost?

Launch sites start at $899, and a site that sells or books with an AI chat assistant included starts at $2,499. Legacy and memorial sites start at $499, and improving an existing site (SEO, competitor analysis, AI) starts at $299. Every project gets a fixed price up front — no surprises.

Can you host it cheaply?

Yes. Many of my sites run on GitHub Pages and similar static hosting, which costs $0/month. Usually your only ongoing cost is a domain name — about $12–20 a year.

How long does it take?

A Launch site is usually 2–3 weeks. Larger sites with booking, a shop, or AI run 4–8 weeks. I work fast and finish.

Will you maintain it after launch?

If you want me to — continuous upkeep starts at $39/month (updates, backups, hosting help, and a human who answers), or a one-time $99 when you just need a few changes. Or I'll hand you the keys and a short guide — you own everything either way.

Do you build memorial and legacy websites?

Yes — it's a specialty. I take a lifetime of material (sermons, scholarship, art, family history) and turn it into a searchable, beautiful archive built to outlive the next platform that shuts down.
